Questions about Due

Most things people ask about are answered below. Anything else, reach out directly.

I'm not getting reminders. What's wrong?

This almost always means notifications are turned off for Due. Open iOS Settings → Due → Notifications and make sure Allow Notifications is on. Due also shows a banner inside the app when notifications are off, tapping it will take you straight to this setting.

How does a recurring bill work after I pay it?

Marking a recurring bill as paid rolls its due date forward to the next cycle, weekly, monthly, or yearly, depending on how you set it up. A monthly bill due on the 31st correctly moves to the last day of shorter months (like the 28th in February) instead of drifting into the wrong month.

Can I mark a bill as paid without opening the app?

Yes. Long-press (or swipe, depending on your iOS settings) on a Due reminder notification and choose "Mark as Paid." The bill updates immediately, with no need to open the app.

Where is my data stored?

Entirely on your device. Due has no server and no account system, so there's nothing to sign into and nothing to sync. See the privacy policy for the full details.

What happens to my bills if I delete the app?

They're deleted along with it. Since everything lives on your device only, we have no copy to restore. If you'd like a safety net, use the export feature (in the app's About screen) to save a backup file before deleting or switching devices.

How do I back up or transfer my bills to a new phone?

Open the About screen inside the app and choose Export Bills, this saves a file you can store anywhere (iCloud Drive, Files, email to yourself). On your new device, use Import Bills and select that same file.

Is the tip jar a subscription?

No. Tips are one-time purchases, there's no subscription, and no feature in Due is locked behind a tip. It's entirely optional support for development.

Can I use Due on Android or the web?

Not currently. Due is built natively for iOS.
